Automation:
Home automation is the bringing of the various sub-systems in the house together into the one operating framework. This can incorporate the audiovisual systems, lighting system, security, HVAC (heating / ventilation / air conditioning), water reticulation, phone/intercom and home computer network, so the various systems can work together. You can integrate some or all of these services depending on the functionality you’d like to have. There are 2 broad advantages to this:
AESTHETICS
Instead of having a bank of light switches, a music keypad control, airconditioning controls and security panel on the entrance doorway, these can be combined into a single easy-to-control, in-wall touchpanel. The home automation controller simply talks to each sub-system, so you don’t require individual wall-controls scattered throughout the house.
CUSTOMISED FUNCTIONALITY
The possibilities are endless once you integrate systems. An in-wall touchpanel in the kitchen can view the security cameras and open the front gate, control the lights throughout the house and garden, show you email, switch on the sprinklers, view and select music to play anywhere in the house and show and adjust the temperature on the ducted airconditioning! How about bringing up these touch-panel functions on your computer while you work in the study! Or maybe having a single "entertaining" button on the living-room remote control that dims the lights in all of the living areas to 50% and activates the distributed music system to randomly play your favourite mix of tracks to these areas. Our system designers will customise the level and functionality of automation to suit your lifestyle and your budget. |
